Project Description
The O8 team embarked on this project to equip SkiPulk with a robust and user-friendly eCommerce website on WordPress, hosted on Pantheon. The process involved several key steps:
- Platform Selection: We collaborated closely with SkiPulk to understand their business needs and product range. Wordpress emerged as the ideal platform due to its scalability, security features, and seamless integration with popular eCommerce solutions.
- Website Development: Leveraging the WordPress development environment, the O8 team meticulously ensured a clean and intuitive user interface across the entire website. This included merging a legacy WordPress and big commerce environment, creating a new homepage, product pages, and other supporting pages all with detailed content and descriptions, high-quality product images, and a streamlined shopping cart system.
- Payment Gateway Integration: Secure payment processing was a top priority. We integrated a trusted payment gateway to ensure a smooth and secure checkout experience for SkiPulk's customers.
- Content Management System Integration: To empower SkiPulk with ongoing content and website management, we implemented a user-friendly content management system (CMS) within the WordPress environment. This goal was to help their team update product information easily, add blog posts, and manage other website content edits.
- Deployment and Optimization: After thorough testing, we successfully deployed the website on Pantheon's reliable infrastructure. We also implemented performance optimization techniques to ensure a fast loading speed and a positive user experience.
